Listing Policy
What sort of stuff gets listed on DiAnime and what does not? This page tries to explain it a bit…
- Anime & Manga only
It may seem obvious, but DiAnime will only list Japanese animation (anime) and manga (comics). This excludes the listing of anime music videos or video game trailers.- On occasion the staff may choose to list live action (non-anime) shows on the site. To qualify a live action show needs to be based on a recent popular anime or manga, where “popular” means it’s reasonably well known among either the Western and/or Japanese fan community (ie: not obscure).
- Unlicensed only
DiAnime will not list anime that has been licensed in North America. If a title is already listed when it is licensed it will be removed. We are aware that certain anime is also availabe on DVD with English subtitles or dub in regions other than North America, however we will continue to list fansubs of those anime as long as they meet the other criteria on the site. - No ero anime (aka hentai)
DiAnime will not list ero (pornographic) anime, although we will list some “ecchi” (mildy indecent) anime. - English subtitles only
At the present moment DiAnime will only list fansubs with (at least) English subtitles. Mainly because keeping track of what has been licensed in those other languages is a daunting task (apart from being confusing for visitors who only know English). - Fansubs only
We will only list fansubs where some effort went into the translation. We reserve the right to deny listing of any fansubs for any or no reasons. - No raw anime
DiAnime will not list non-english anime that has no subtitles. - No parodies
At the present moment DiAnime will only list anime which (for the most part) is seriously translated. Any parody fansubs will not be listed, although it is still possible some anime listed contains jokes or other brief segements clearly not seriously translated.
